Day 1: Depart the USA for Johannesburg, South Africa.

 

Day 2: Johannesburg

 

Upon arrival in Johannesburg you will be met and escorted to your accommodation at D’Oreale Grande Hotel.

At magnificent five star D'Oreale Grande at The Emperor Palace Gaming and Convention Resort, luxury beckons at every turn. Day 3: Johannesburg to Kruger National Park

 

After breakfast this morning, transfer to the airport for a scheduled flight to Skukuza Airport. Upon arrival at the airport, a transfer will bring you to your accommodations at Jock Safari Lodge, the first private lodge set in the heart of Africa's premier wildlife reserve, the Kruger National Park. Jock Safari Lodge incorporates the romance and elegance of the past colonial era, and reflects in its unique style the indigenous Zulu and Shangaan cultures.

This luxurious lodge is situated in the southern area of the Kruger National Park at the confluence of the Mitomeni and Biyamiti rivers, half way between Skukuza and Malelane airports. Magnificent trees and an abundance of bird life surround the lodge. From here, two track roads take you into acres of exclusive traversing in the first private concession set in over 2 million hectares of Kruger National Park.

Day 4: Kruger National Park

 

Framed by glowing sunsets and a bountiful canopy of stars lies the Kruger National Park. The park, rich in biodiversity, was established in 1898 and stretches for 200 miles from south to north along the Mozambican border before meeting up with the Zimbabwean border. A paradise for the wildlife enthusiast with close to 150 mammals to be on the lookout for, amongst them six cat species, the park also has more than 500 species of birds and over 300 species of trees for the visitor to identify. With its subtropical climate and large habitat variety, the park is home to a spectacular array of fauna and flora and is undoubtedly the world leader in dynamic environmental management techniques and policies based on experience gained over more than a century.

Jock Safari Lodge is situated in one of the best game viewing areas of the park. Sightings of animals including the Big Five can be seen while relaxing around the rock pool or from the comfort and privacy of your own room. Game drives in open Land Rovers, with a professional team of game rangers, offer guests the thrill of close encounters with Africa’s BIG FIVE. Walking safaris, birding safaris and guided historical tours will take you along the paths of legend and mystery. Interpret the signs, sounds and scents of wild animals in this unspoiled wilderness.

Day 5: Kruger National Park to Shamwari Game Reserve

 

This morning, continue on your journey. A transfer will take you to the Skukuza Airport where you will fly to Johannesburg to connect with your flight to Port Elizabeth. From there, you will transfer to your accommodations at Bayethe Lodge, located in the Shamwari Private Reserve at the confluence of five eco-systems which supports a wide range of flora and fauna including the recently re-introduced 'Big Five.' Activities include day and evening game drives and walks in the Bush. Bayethe Lodge offers the ultimate in luxury, tented accommodation. Each of the nine tents are nestled along the bed of the river, camouflaged under trees allowing ample privacy and unsurpassed comforts. Each tent is air-conditioned and heated and has an en-suite bathroom, shower, private plunge pool and viewing deck.

Day 6: Shamwari Game Reserve

 

Enjoy a morning and afternoon game drive or venture out all day on a picnic lunch. Shamwari is the most southern private game reserve in Africa and unfolds across 25,000 acres of countryside steeped in history. Highly experienced rangers will share their knowledge with you on your game drives or walks. This contrasting topography from mountain ravines, open plains, grasslands, valleys and riverine thicket, is one of the outstanding features of Shamwari. Big game encounters will bring you close to white rhino, elephant, buffalo, lion, giraffe and hippo as well as your zebra, springbok, blesbok and much more. End the day with sundown overlooking one of the valleys before returning to a roaring fire and dinner.

After breakfast this morning, you will transfer to Port Elizabeth and connect with a flight to Cape Town. Upon arrival in Cape Town, you will transfer to your accommodations at the Radisson Hotel.

Day 9: Cape Town
